This beauty is a great example of faden quartz in a single crystal with multiple tiny terminations. The crystal has “jagged” edges caused by multiple parallel terminations (points), all of which are damage free and glass-clear.
Faden quartz is characterized by the “faden line” running through the crystals. The faden line can be in a single crystal, generally with a flattened or elongated form. This variety of quartz gets its name from the German word for string, “faden”, and is accordingly pronounced “fah-den”.
