This fragile piece is a great example of faden quartz with an elongated crystal attached to another crystal. The piece is reminiscent of a flower stem or giraffe neck. One small contact on the bottom of the piece does not detract from viewing angles.
Faden quartz is characterized by the “faden line” running through the crystals. The faden line can be in a single crystal, generally with a flattened or elongated form. This variety of quartz gets its name from the German word for string, “faden”, and is accordingly pronounced “fah-den”.
