This fragile piece is a great example of faden quartz with a very visible faden line and many terminations connecting to form one large piece. Complete and terminated all around, no contact.
Faden quartz is characterized by the “faden line” running through the crystals. The faden line can be in a single crystal, generally with a flattened or elongated form. This variety of quartz gets its name from the German word for string, “faden”, and is accordingly pronounced “fah-den”.
